Every plan includesunlimited users, saved filters and alerts, all ingest methods (syslog over TLS, plain TCP/UDP syslog where the account enables it, the HTTP ingest API, the AWS CloudWatch and EventBridge integrations), the Log Explorer and live tail, exports, and the read API and MCP access for coding agents.
Business and Enterprise also include redaction at ingest, which replaces personal data and credentials in log lines before they are stored.
Enterprise can also be paid by invoice instead of by card, by arrangement with support@sanelog.com.
Free period
Every new account starts on the plan chosen at signup, free for 14 days, with no card. There is no free plan. During the free period, ingest past the plan's monthly allowance is dropped for the rest of the calendar month, and the dropped volume is shown on the usage screen. An account that reaches the end of the free period without a card subscription keeps its stored logs and its screens, but stops accepting new logs until a subscription starts. An account that is not paid for is closed 30 days after its free period or subscription ended.
How ingest is measured
Ingest is the size of the log data SaneLog receives, uncompressed, in gigabytes of 1,000,000,000 bytes per calendar month. Allowances reset at the start of each calendar month (UTC).
The ingest allowance is a fair-use limit
On a paid plan, ingest past the monthly allowance is never dropped and never charged for. An account that keeps using more than its allowance is asked to move to a plan whose allowance fits its usage.
Active sources
A plan includes a number of active sources. A new sender past that number is held pending until a source is deleted or the account moves to a larger plan, and a plan change that would leave more active sources than the new plan includes is refused.
Retention when you change plans
Moving to a plan with longer retention extends events already stored, which are then kept for the new, longer period. Moving to a plan with shorter retention never deletes anything immediately: events already stored expire on the schedule that applied when they were received, and new events take the new period.
Billing
Each plan is billed monthly, or yearly at ten months' price, in advance, by card through our payment processor. When a card is added during the free period, the first charge falls on the day the free period ends. You can change plan or billing period at any time, and the application shows how the change is charged before you confirm it. You can cancel at any time and keep access until the end of the current billing period.
Taxes
Prices are in US dollars and exclude taxes. GST, VAT, sales tax and similar charges are added at checkout or on the invoice where we are required to collect them.
Prices and plan allowances may change as described in our Terms of Service, with at least 30 days' notice. By subscribing you agree to the Terms of Service (which include our Data Processing Addendum) and acknowledge our Privacy Policy. Our subprocessors are listed here.
